While the effectiveness of compost at suppressing disease can vary according to compost types and application rates used, in some cases compost has reduced disease severity by up to 90%.
The trial was conducted by Scott Underdown, the Senior Nutrition Agronomist at Plant Nutrition Australia. The trial was conducted using EcoBooster™ Phoska development product on tomato crops on heavy black soils in Bowen, Queensland.
